Description

There are several challenges that come with being an adult, but don't let money and finances be one of them! Join Beach Pride Events' (BPE) Financial Empowerment Conference. This event is designed to help you manage your finances and understand how to become financially independent.

Join us Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the USU Ballrooms to get closer to becoming financially free. All attendees will receive FREE concessions, while supplies last, and the chance to win ASI swag! Every participant will receive a certificate of completion before the conference concludes! Please complete this survey by Friday Oct. 25 to fully registration for the event.

Daniel Ham Headshot

Daniel C. Ham, CFA, FRM is currently a lecturer at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). He has also taught at the University of North Texas, UC Irvine, and Chapman University over the last 25 years. He also worked in the private sector in professional education. His most recent role in professional education was as Content Director CFA Curriculum at UWorld based in Dallas, Texas. He also served as a Vice President for Global Association for Risk Professionals (GARP) and Director of Curriculum, CFA, (Stalla) for Becker Professional Education. He has taught CFA Levels I, II and III exam preparations for both Stalla and Kaplan. He received his master’s in business administration from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) – The Paul Merage School of Business with concentrations in finance and marketing. He is a CFA charter holder and earned a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation.

He has taught finance, accounting, statistics, strategy and international business courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has served as faculty advisor for student organizations and advisory board member for mentoring programs. His background also includes working in investment management, investment consulting, commercial real estate, strategic management and marketing.

Frank McEnulty Headshot

Frank McEnulty is an experienced financial executive with an extensive background in new business start-ups, finance and accounting. He serves on the Board of Directors for Ojai Oil Company. He also teaches Finance and Entrepreneurship classes at CSULB and is a consultant to new business start-up companies.Mr. McEnulty has B.S. degrees from CSULB in accounting and inance and an MBA from the University of Southern California.

Sabrina Landa headshot

Sabrina Landa is a lecturer in accounting with five years of teaching experience covering a broad array of undergraduate and graduate accounting courses. As an accountant with 15+ years of career experience including controller and chief operations officer roles, Sabrina holds unique insight in strategic decision making, IPO and public financial reporting. She currently owns and operates a small firm providing advisory and accounting services to a range of small to mid-sized clients in Orange County. Sabrina advises the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) student organization at CSULB and is actively engaged in research. She has earned her B.S. in accounting and finance from Chapman University and her MBA from Brandman University.

Giorgina Nguyen headshot

As a seasoned financial advisor focused on helping her clients achieve financial wellness and independence, Giorgina specializes in assisting professionals and families in crafting comprehensive financial plans tailored to their unique goals and aspirations. With a keen focus on empowering her clients to make informed decisions about their finances, she provides personalized guidance and strategic insights to help them navigate through various seasons of life. A testament to her work ethic, several clients have worked with Giorgina for over a decade, and many are families pursuing their interests in retirement and striving to maintain multigenerational wealth.

Giorgina began her career as an intern with Wells Fargo Advisors and was extended a position shortly after graduating from college. Giorgina graduated from CSULB earning a B.A. in financial management and a B.S. in business economics. She has maintained her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation since 2014.

Giorgina and her husband, Peter, have recently welcomed identical twin boys, Joshua and Eli, who have brought boundless joy and inspiration into their lives. Parenthood has deepened her perception of the importance of ongoing long-term financial planning and the significance of securing a stable future for loved ones. They live in the South Bay with their adopted cat, Juliet.

Presenter Name: Danielle Muñoz-Channel

Danielle Muñoz-Channel (she/her) is the Director of Basic Needs at CSULB, bringing over 20 years of experience in managing financial, mental health, and basic needs resources for communities. After earning her bachelor's degree from UC Davis, Danielle worked as a personal banker, aiding low-income families and seniors in achieving financial stability. She then pursued a master's degree in marriage, family, and child counseling from Sacramento State, becoming a licensed marriage and family therapist. In 2016, Danielle transitioned to higher education, establishing a case management and crisis intervention program at a CSU in northern California, which included CARES, Basic Needs, and Behavioral Intervention Team services. She also developed a wellness ambassador curriculum for faculty and staff training.

Joining CSULB in 2022, Danielle revitalized the Beach Bites, CalWORKs, and Financial Literacy programs, created a Basic Needs Peer Ambassador Team, and expanded emergency grants and housing beds. As a second-generation Mexican-American and first-generation college student, Danielle understands the systemic and psychological barriers students can face in a university setting. She is committed to equity-minded leadership and elevating student voices into programs and services that help them overcome obstacles and achieve their degrees. Joining CSULB in 2022, Danielle revitalized the Beach Bites, CalWORKs, and Financial Literacy programs, created a Basic Needs Peer Ambassador Team, and expanded emergency grants and housing beds. Jeff Eisfelder Headshot

Mr. Eisfelder serves as Managing Director for First Foundation Advisors. Mr. Eisfelder partners with a team of investment, planning, and trust experts to draw upon the resources of First Foundation Advisors to help clients understand and plan for important financial goals, such as retirement and educational expense funding. Through a disciplined assessment process, Mr. Eisfelder evaluates his client's current investments, tolerance for risk, and cash flow to develop a long-term, strategic asset allocation plan to help them achieve their goals. Once the strategy is implemented, he communicates frequently to keep his clients informed of their progress.

Mr. Eisfelder has 20 years of investment and wealth management experience. Prior to joining First Foundation Advisors, he was a Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor at City National Bank and Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer at Lido Advisors.

Mr. Eisfelder is a Certified Financial Planner CFP. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Mr. Eisfelder graduated from University High School in West Los Angeles before attending the University of Arizona and graduating with a degree in business administration/marketing.

Jordan Eres serves as Chief of Staff for Student Auxiliary Enterprises at CSULB, where he supports the executive leadership of ASI and Beach Shops. With a robust background in human resources, Jordan previously led ASI’s HR department, managing recruitment and hiring processes. As a double alumnus of CSULB, and having served ASI in various capacities, he most enjoys supporting students on their educational journey and helping prepare them for their life after graduation.

Presenter Name: David Lee

David Lee currently serves as the Branch Manager within Southland Credit Union’s Retail Banking Department. David is responsible for identifying and executing growth opportunities, overseeing daily operations, member service excellence, and community engagement for Long Beach branches. Prior to joining Southland Credit Union, David served in various leadership roles with Bank of America, N.A., Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., East West Bank, and Ernst & Young (China) Advisory in Shanghai, China. As a banker for 20+ years, David has helped many clients and members focusing on establishing their first accounts, building credits, savings plans, financial planning, home purchases, to retirement planning. Aside from consumer banking, David also has extensive experience in assisting small business owners with their banking needs. David holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Irvine and an Executive MBA from the Paul Merage School of Business at University of California, Irvine.

Dawn Winship is a financial advisor and trust/probate accountant with over 30 years of experience in accounting, financial planning, insurance and estate planning. She has worked at Wirehouse (UBS), Chase Bank in Chase Financial Services, Prudential Financial and most recently retired from her private practice at Pacific Advisors to launch My Final Act, a startup technology in the final wishes planning space. Prior to her career in financial services, she worked with Fortune 500 companies to develop strategic alliances.

Dawn holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in international business, and holds the coveted Wealth Management Certified Professional and Retirement Income Certified Professional designations.

Dawn prides herself on giving guidance that will secure a foundation that provides peace of mind and stability.
